Day 1 – Arrival in Udaipur
Morning:
Upon your arrival at Udaipur Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Take some time to refresh and settle in.
Afternoon:
Begin your sightseeing with a visit to Pratap Smarak, a memorial dedicated to the legendary Rajput hero Maharana Pratap. Located on Moti Magri (Pearl Hill), the site offers a commanding view of Fateh Sagar Lake and features an imposing bronze statue of Maharana Pratap on his horse Chetak, alongside murals and exhibits that recount tales of valor and sacrifice.
Evening:
Spend the evening exploring Udaipur’s scenic lakes. Start with Fateh Sagar Lake, a peaceful body of water surrounded by hills, with options for boat rides and views of Nehru Park – a charming island garden in the center of the lake. Later, head to the stunning Lake Pichola, one of the most iconic landmarks of Udaipur. Admire the view of palaces like Jag Mandir and the Lake Palace (Taj Lake Palace) as the sun sets over the water, casting golden hues across the cityscape.
Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Udaipur.
Day 2 – Full-Day Udaipur Exploration
Morning:
After breakfast, your cultural journey begins with a visit to the Jagdish Temple, an Indo-Aryan style temple built in 1651. This revered Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, stands as a fine example of intricate architecture, with beautifully carved pillars, graceful ceilings, and elaborate statues.
Next, explore the majestic City Palace, an architectural marvel located on the banks of Lake Pichola. This sprawling complex of courtyards, balconies, towers, and cupolas blends Rajasthani and Mughal styles.
Highlights include the Crystal Gallery, Mor Chowk (Peacock Courtyard), and Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors). From the palace balconies, enjoy panoramic views of the lake and surrounding city.
Afternoon:
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or your hotel. Post-lunch, visit Saheliyon-ki-Bari, also known as the Garden of the Maidens. Built by Maharana Sangram Singh for the royal ladies, the garden is adorned with fountains, lotus pools, marble pavilions, and lush greenery, offering a serene escape.
Evening:
Wrap up your day with a visit to Bagore Ki Haveli, an 18th-century haveli located on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangaur Ghat. The haveli now houses a museum showcasing royal artifacts, costumes, and traditional Rajasthani art.
In the evening, enjoy a captivating cultural performance with folk music and dance (Dharohar Dance Show), bringing Rajasthan’s heritage vividly to life.
Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3 – Departure from Udaipur
Morning:
After breakfast, check out from your hotel. You will be transferred to the airport or railway station as per your departure schedule, carrying fond memories of your time in the “City of Lakes.”
